ANNOUNCEMENTS

School Supplies Donations The elementary Student Council is organizing a school supply drive for Jinks Middle School in Panama City, Floridia. In October, Jinks was wiped out by Hurricane Michael, leaving them with nothing. Sixth grader Ashley Braun’s grandmother works at this school, and the elementary StuCo has asked for our support with their amazing fundraiser. Jinks is asking for whiteboard markers, whiteboard erasers, spiral notebooks, individually packaged snacks (fruit snacks, granola bars, ect.) and gift cards to Amazon, Wal-Mart, or Sam’s Club. The supply drive will be from February 18- March 1. Boxes will be in the front office, the teacher workroom, and in Mrs. Hottovy’s office for items. Thank you for your kindness and support!!


Cupcake Wars THANKS to all who entered the 2019 Cupcake War Competition.

Elementary book donations FFA members will be around to pick up donation boxes tomorrow (due to the snow day on Wednesday).


NHS/Red Cross Blood Drive Make your appointment now to donate your life saving gift at the Friend High School Blood Drive on Wednesday, Feb. 27th from 8 AM – 2 PM.


Golf Lunch Meeting If you are interested in playing golf this spring, please attend a lunch meeting Friday, Feb. 22 in Mr. Arp's room.


Boys Basketball uniform check in Please turn in all basketball uniforms, playbooks, balls, practice jerseys, and bricks need to be turned in tomorrow (washed) Friday, Feb. 22 to Coach Arp.

Sports physical reminder Reminder that if you plan to go out for track or golf this spring and you have not participated in another sport, you must have a sports physical before you can begin practices as well as pay the $30 participation fee.


Track Meeting there will be a varsity track meeting for boys and girls in grades 9-12 on Tuesday, Feb 26th in Mr. Pfeiffer's room. The meeting will begin at 3:45.


NATIONAL FFA WEEK The EMF FFA chapter will be celebrating National FFA Week February 17th-24th. Throughout the week we have a lot of fun activities planned!

Friday........ Pep Rally--- The whole school and E-M FFA members are invited! We have a lot of fun activities planned for a jam packed HOUR of fun. We will start at 2:30 p.m. in the Old Gym. FFA officers will be released at 1:30 p.m. DRESS: Flannel Friday

Elementary Lessons: These will take place throughout the week. Students have been assigned classes and will work with their teachers to let them know when they will be gone.

Junior-High Dance The FHS Student Council Junior High Shamrock Dance will be from 7-9 on Friday March 1st! The dance is open to students in grades 7-9 and will cost $4. Students can get reduced admission by bringing canned food or non-perishable items. For each can, students will receive a dollar off admission, which means for 4 cans of food, you can get in FREE!! All proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish.


SENIORS
Please check your email regarding the picture image you need to submit for the hallway wall composite. These are due to Mrs. Segner (deb.segner@friendschool.org) by March 1 so we can get them to the photographer who will be making the compostite and have it ready by graduation. ****These are due by NEXT Friday, March 1!!**** Only 4 have submitted.

  • Any high school students interested in the health profession should consider attending the Crete Area Medical Center's monthly Medical Academy sessions. This month's focus is exploring the career of nurse anesthetist and will be held February 25 at 7 p.m. at the Create Area Medical Center. If you are interested, please see Ms. Hottovy by NOON WEDNESDAY.

  • ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS! Do you want to spend your summer learning about a potential new career, exploring the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus and having tons of fun?! Join us for 2019 Big Red Summer Academic Camps! Camp runs from Sunday, June 9 – Friday, June 14, 2019. All students entering grades 10-12 are welcome! Choose from 8 different career areas: Engineering, Outdoor Nebraska, Filmmaking, Unicameral Youth Legislature, Teaching, Vet Science, Weather & Climate Science, and Animation. Partial and Full Scholarships are available for select camps! If you are interested, please see Ms. Hottovy ASAP.
